Almost on every level and on almost everyday congress is in session it seems they are doing (or not doing) something to obstruct the very important job of President Obama.  And no matter if you voted for him or not, he is the president… not McCain or anybody else.  Barack Obama was nominated and won the presidential race in 2008.

I will be the first to agree with some that President Obama leans way too far left at times, but hey… the guy has caved to GOP pressure on several occasions.  And you know what, sometimes you gotta give a little to get a little, but has GOP given the man anything?  Seriously, have they not been complete asses at every turn?

One of the previous segments focused on President Obama's broken campaign promises.  It is only fair, and I it is my hope that others are watching, to present the "other" side… because there are always 2 sides to any story, argument, opinion and so on.

With the help from folks here on Newsvine like Fla Pat, MJL-3, elpkidd, mstanley2265, and  euterpe-1641499, I was able to put together a very impressive, and most pathetic, list of obvious and blatant GOP obstructionism.  If I missed anyone, please let me know and I will update the list.

It's a sad day for America when a group of Representatives come to Washington with the single-minded purpose to derail an American President.  I don't care what side of the street you are walking on… the 1000 car pile-up they (GOP) have caused is still very ugly and dis-heartening to look at.

People are suffering and all Barack Obama wanted to do was help.  His ideas and methods should have at least been given some consideration.  Just a little, maybe… and definitely not this:

1)  GOP record high number of filibusters (this is pathetic!):

2)  GOP obstruction of nominations (no wonder recess appointments had to be made… sheeeesh!!!):

4)  Lost jobs from GOP obstruction (thanks GOP, I enjoy sitting at home… starving!):

Grisham

Good article, Moby. Hope all is well in your world. The GOP have obstructed in any way possible and didn't even make a secret of it.

Thanks Grisham! Things are a little stressful, I'm changing jobs and having to deal with everything that goes along with that, but am just grateful for "other" opportunities. How are you?

The current GOP really sucks… didn't realize that until putting this article together.

Great job putting this research together, It's too bad any republican who may read this information will not be affected. They will continue to believe republican spin and misinformation as always....

since Ron Paul has been against him on almost everything....I cant blame the repubs for being against him...we can talk about the reasoning behind it...or maybe if they truly are against him...remember he had a majority at first and still couldnt get @!$%# through.

regardless....as a libertarian I would oppose and block nearly all that he has wanted too.

the man is nothing but bad for this country.....bushbama.

Marshall: Do you have any actual evidence to support that?

More hyperbolic rhetoric.

michelle

look at what he has done...forcing american citizens to purchase a good from private organizations...ie. fascism

assassination of american citizens without due process, continuation of the patriot act and ending habeas corpus.

and that is without him even getting his way!!!!

I would say he is a traitor to this country and should be imprisoned as well as all other politicians who voted for all of the above.

Moby's ManCave....as I commented earlier on an article, it was the republican leader Mitch McConnell game plan to not allow votes on anything Obama wanted. He already knew that the President was asking to change the tone in Washington and Mitch knew he would make him fail at that if he denied him any votes. We witnessed that strategy throughout Obama's first two years and even now. How the heck can you vote against wallstreet reform when our financial economy was near collapse? How many times did we hear that the repubs worked with the dems on bills only to turn around and vote against them? My own state's senator was so outraged and disgusted at this rouse that she called them out to shame them on her webpage. The repubs had no shame as we saw them rail against the stimulus only to turn around behind closed doors and write for the money for their states. It's pathetic and we the voters should not give them any more time nor our money sitting on office doing not a gotdamn thing!!!

The outrage of it all!! Ok that was a little sarcastic but not completely.

The Democrats and the Republicans all yelling at each other in Congress then they all go to lunch and laugh about it. It's like big time wrestling lots of bluster and then a paycheck.

I was looking at your debt graph. 7 gradiations of debt and Obama had two and a piece in just a few years. That can't be accurate especially if the Republicans were obstructing him from spending money.

Disclaimer- Not saying obstructionist politics didn't occur cause the no votes are well documented. No for the people and yes for the wealthy (Ironically sometimes by presidential order)

Rats my comment didn't even come out right...

What I meant was when you look at the debt graph it looks like Obama has had to spend more money keeping our country afloat for a few years then little George (Mr 28 percent) did in 8 years.

"It's not sexist. It's not Elizabeth Warren-specific," McConnell spokesman Donald Stewart said. "It's any nominee."
